My two boys both had dirt bikes when they were young. Living in the back woods of Florida there were plenty of places to ride all through the orange groves. Watching my boys learn to ride was a litte bit anxiety making. At 3 years old my youngest was learning how to shift all the gears and speed along in the groves. One day he wiped out into a small orange tree, got up all bloody and kept on going. The thrill was just to much for him to stop riding. As the boys got older their bikes got much bigger and much faster, and they wore professional gear too, like airoh helmets and the like. I clocked one son going 65 down the dirt road without a helmet on one day. He paid dearly for not wearing his helmet, no bike for two weeks. The thrill of the ride off road keeps the rider going. It is exciting to watch as they wizz past and go over jumps and around corners so fast. Dirt Biking is a great sport for young boys. |
